ABOUT

Hi! I’m Karen Jeane Mills

I live in Calgary, Alberta and grew up on Canada’s East Coast.

I studied fine art at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and graphic design at NSCC in rural N.S. My work draws on labour history, natural sciences, and public life.

Prairie Crop is my art + design studio where I create illustrations, brand suites, and educational resources for community groups, media outlets, and businesses.

I’m a member of the Canadian Freelance Union (Unifor) and donate to support wilderness conversation (AWA), queer and trans rights, and health research.

I share my activities, routines, and tips on Instagram, Threads, and YouTube

Feel free to Connect with me if you have a project in mind!
